Lesson from Isaiah #5Jesus Will Rule On This Earth (Isa. 2:1-4 also, Micah 4:1-3) “. . . for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. And he shall judge among the nations and shall rebuke many people..”
|
Rev. 19:11-16 | “. . . he shall rule them with an iron rod.” |
|
Isa. 24:21-23 | “In that day, the Lord shall punish the host of the high ones that are high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.” |
When he returns to reign on earth, Jesus will not behave as he did the first time he came to earth to dwell among men. He will not “turn the other cheek” and submit meekly to the cruel abuse of the wicked; rather, he will break men’s jaws and crush every rebellion with great and violent force.
|
Isa. 26:19 | “Thy dead men shall live; together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust!” |
| Isa. 33:17a | “Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty . . .” |
| Isa. 32:1-2 | “Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment.” |
| Rev. 20:4-6 | “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given to them. . . . and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.” |
Jesus will raise his people from the dead and take them to be presented to the Father.
Then they will return to earth to reign with Jesus over the nations of the earth.
Authority will be given to each of his saints according to his ability (Mt. 25:14-30). This ability is not human intelligence or know-how. It is spiritual ability to judge righteous judgment and the ability to hear God’s voice and obey it. How much ability do you have?
| Isa. 11:1-9 | “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid, . . . . and the lion shall eat straw like an ox.” |
Jesus will impose peace on the planet, even upon wild animals. Under his reign,
bloodshed will not be allowed, unless he sheds it.
| Isa. 42:1-4 | “Behold my servant, whom I uphold! My elect, in whom my soul delights! ” It will give the father great pleasure to see Jesus ruling over the earth. |
| Zech. 14:16-20 | “Everyone that is left of all the nations . . . shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.”
There may be a few rebellions against his authority, but he will prevail against them all.
